Faculty membership

Faculty membership, i.e. affiliated faculty

UC Davis faculty who have Senate or Academic Federation status and who have demonstrated:

  • Disciplinary expertise and accomplishments in areas relevant to neuroengineering, and/or
  • Active research, practice, or teaching relevant to the center activities, and
  • Willingness to participate in center activities, including serving on standing and ad hoc committees

may apply to become affiliated faculty.

How to apply

  • Self-nomination or
  • Nomination submitted by an existing member

Interested faculty should submit a CV and short letter of interest describing how they plan to satisfy the membership requirements to any member of the Executive Committee (center co-directors and associate director), and/or at this link. Please include: title, department, center affiliations, research focus, graduate groups and programs membership, links to websites, and any other information relevant to neuroengineering efforts.

Anticipated contributions of affiliated faculty

Affiliated faculty are expected to contribute in two or more areas listed below:

  • Teach courses relevant to neuroengineering and the Center for Neuroengineering and Medicine (CNEAM)
  • Conduct research relevant to neuroengineering and CNEAM
  • Mentor students, postdocs, residents, and/or junior faculty
  • Serve on dissertation and qualifying examination committees
  • Serve on other relevant committees such as Symposium Planning Committee, Outreach Committee, and ad-hoc committees
  • Participate in center outreach activities, and promote the center to external audiences
  • Participate in recruiting students, including women and underrepresented minorities
