Bio

The Functional Advanced Neuroimaging (FAN) Lab develops advanced, multi-modal imaging tools to understand the vascular bases of brain function and neurological disorders. These techniques include dynamic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) acquisitions and biophysical modeling to identify "vascular fingerprints" that characterize brain function and health.

The FAN Lab also pursues simultaneous PET/MRI to understand structural and functional connectivity in the brain; and uses machine learning to synthesize multi-modal inputs for predicting brain activity and disease. The group collaborates intimately with stroke clinicians and neurologists at the UC Davis Alzheimer's Disease Research Center to use imaging biomarkers for identifying optimal therapies for patients.
