Computer science education, computer architecture, transportation technology

Nitta is interested in computer science education, including applications in neuroengineering, and improving energy efficiency of both computer architecture and transportation. His work has three main focuses: analyzing student performance compared to their grade history, better utilizing on-chip energy to maximize performance and analyzing energy usage in PHEVs. These efforts aim to improve the experience of students in computer science programs and to reduce the energy consumed in our highly active virtual and physical lives.

Professor Nitta also participates in the NSF Training Program (NRT) NeuralStorm: Taking Neuroengineering by Storm
